This weekend we went up to Alexandria, VA to see the Alexandria Choral Society perform at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Clients, who have become friends, invited us up as the husband was singing in the concert, and the Society was having a silent auction to celebrate their 50th anniversary that evening. Our friends know that as part of my Sony Alpha Female project, our studio is expanding in to the Alexandria market, and thought the visibility of our donation would be a great opportunity to start networking.
The evening was called Performance Art, an interactive program that aspires to “interpret visual art through choral performance.” They teamed up with visual artists, as well as the dance group Local Motion to showcase their art during the concert. It was a beautiful evening and we met several people and had the opportunity to talk to them about our portraits and our expansion.
In addition, we started investigating potential rental studios that we could use to start photographing clients in that area. We already have families that are ready for us – it’s just a matter of getting a location and some dates set up … which is what we will be working on this next week.
The expansion is starting to feel real … and I’m excited!!!
