Back in the Saddle
So far this year I’ve been on the road quite a bit, which is awesome, but it also means I haven’t been doing my favorite thing: shooting!! This week I finally got back in my happy place and had the most amazing session with a beautiful dancer. I really wanted to create something that would show off her gorgeous form. We pushed the envelope and got some really unique things that I haven’t tried before. I think this is my favorite image that resulted from that. We recently suspended a Godox light from the ceiling and this is the first opportunity I had to play with it. Now, I’m obsessed! Also, I actually captured this image in black-and-white on my new Sony a7riv (as opposed to changing it to BW in post-production) and the file is absolutely GORGEOUS with full dynamic range!!! And, I tried using some backgrounds in a very different way than I have in the past. It was a morning completely outside my comfort zone, and I loved every minute of it. It was a great reminder that sometimes we just need to play and go for it…I’m still on a high from that session! A big thank you to Bekah and Charlotte for helping me shake off the cobwebs to create some magic!
